T-Ball
Ages: 4-6
T-Ball is a modified version of baseball for boys and girls.
The game is all about being active and having FUN. The batting team hits the ball off a stationary tee and cannot get out on strikes.
Little League Minors
Ages: 7-9
These players enjoy a modified form of baseball where the coach pitches to their own team. There are no strikes or balls; after three unsuccessful pitches, the batter can hit the ball off a tee.
Little League Majors
Ages: 10 – 12
This is the first level where a semi-competitive environment is introduced with scores recorded and finals played however the emphasis is still on skill development and equal participation. Although players are rotated through various positions throughout the season this age group sees children starting to focus on more specific roles within the team.
Intermediate League
Ages: 12-13
Intermediate League is a developmental bridge between Little League and Junior League. The field size is reduced but the full rules apply, runners can “take leads”, but can also be picked off”, “balks” are introduced.
Junior League
Ages: 13-14
Junior League is a developmental bridge between Intermediate League and Senior League. The field size is still slightly reduced from the full size but the full rules apply, runners can “take leads”, but can also be picked off, “balks” are introduced.
Senior League
Ages: 15-16
Senior League is where players begin to play on a full-size diamond with the full baseball rules in place.
Big League/U20s*
Ages: 17-19
The full rules of baseball apply, with games played on a full-size field. This age group may involve travel to Greater Brisbane League clubs, dependent on interest levels from the Gold Coast Baseball Association’s clubs.
